: I just had to cancel the appointment for declawing my cat. I guess I love my Cat more than my Couch. Thanks for all the information on declawing. I was about to make a big mistake. I'm going to try soft paws or just give him the couch. I just can't do it to him. My husband will just have to understand. Thanks for the help.
These soft-paws seem to be a great solution. However, they are very expensive! Consider the costs
over the life of the cat in a 2 cat household! $100 per year per cat. Assume the cat lives 15 years. That
about $3000! I admit, Soft-Paws are an ingenious idea, but the product development and production
costs certainly don't justify the price. Unfortuneately, de-clawing is a less expensive solution for a
destructive cat. I suggest that if you really want to keep people from declawing their cats, make this
product available to retail dealers (like Petsmart), make more people aware of the product (I discovered it
by accident), and lower the price. Ron.
